💭My name is Richard Tang, and if you allow me, I’ll tell you how I ended up at the center of one of the most dynamic and exciting industries of our time: cryptocurrency.
💭So, it’s 2017. I was the head of ABW Global Market, and frankly, my world revolved around traditional finance. But at one of the conferences in sunny Florida, where they usually discuss the usual topics - from futures to stock markets - there was a new energy in the air. This new drive came from young, ambitious people, talking about cryptocurrencies with sparkling eyes. I noticed that I was not the only one captivated by this atmosphere. More and more voices talking about the future of finance were coming from this sphere, and I could not remain indifferent.
💭So, it’s 2017. I was the head of ABW Global Market, and frankly, my world revolved around traditional finance. But at one of the conferences in sunny Florida, where they usually discuss the usual topics - from futures to stock markets - there was a new energy in the air. This new drive came from young, ambitious people, talking about cryptocurrencies with sparkling eyes. I noticed that I was not the only one captivated by this atmosphere. More and more voices talking about the future of finance were coming from this sphere, and I could not remain indifferent.

🫠Have you ever wondered why things that were once considered magic or luxury for the chosen few today cost pennies or nothing at all?
ℹ️In economics, there is a concept that Jeff Booth writes coolly about in his book "The Price of Tomorrow".
💭The essence is simple: technology is inherently deflationary. It makes everything faster, cheaper, and more accessible.
⚡️ For example, electricity! Once it was a pastime for the wealthy and scholars.
🫣Today we don't notice its cost.
🤓In the 1800s, a person had to work 6 hours to afford just one hour of artificial light (candles, oil).
🎃Today, thanks to progress, that same hour of light costs us less than a second of working time. We literally get light for free.
Electricity has become the backdrop of our lives.
🚙 Cars. In the early 20th century, owning a car was a status symbol of a "superhuman".
Now it's a basic tool available to almost everyone — if not new from the showroom, then used, but fulfilling its function.
ℹ️This is the "inflation of progress". Barriers are falling. What once required a team of engineers and millions of dollars is now solved with a couple of clicks.
👀But the most interesting things are happening right now in the IT field. Previously, to create an app, one had to learn the syntax of languages, algorithms, and architecture for years. Today we have entered the era of "vibe coding".
🐼Without knowing code, I built and released two apps in the App Store myself. Just by communicating with technologies in human language.
