šHow does the impossible become free?
š« Have you ever wondered why things that were once considered magic or luxury for the chosen few today cost pennies or nothing at all?
ā¹ļøIn economics, there is a concept that Jeff Booth writes coolly about in his book "The Price of Tomorrow".
šThe essence is simple: technology is inherently deflationary. It makes everything faster, cheaper, and more accessible.
ā”ļø For example, electricity! Once it was a pastime for the wealthy and scholars.
š«£Today we don't notice its cost.
š¤In the 1800s, a person had to work 6 hours to afford just one hour of artificial light (candles, oil).
šToday, thanks to progress, that same hour of light costs us less than a second of working time. We literally get light for free.
Electricity has become the backdrop of our lives.
š Cars. In the early 20th century, owning a car was a status symbol of a "superhuman".
Now it's a basic tool available to almost everyone ā if not new from the showroom, then used, but fulfilling its function.
ā¹ļøThis is the "inflation of progress". Barriers are falling. What once required a team of engineers and millions of dollars is now solved with a couple of clicks.
šBut the most interesting things are happening right now in the IT field. Previously, to create an app, one had to learn the syntax of languages, algorithms, and architecture for years. Today we have entered the era of "vibe coding".
š¼Without knowing code, I built and released two apps in the App Store myself. Just by communicating with technologies in human language.
š¦The apps are already available for download in the App Store:
1ļøā£ 2048 rch: minimalist puzzle.
ā¹ļøA popular game, puzzle: absolutely clean, without annoying ads, subscriptions, and "junk".
š”Just a game.
2ļøā£ Money Tracker.
ā¹ļøA concise expense manager. You can customize categories and control your budget without unnecessary complications.
Importantly, it stores data locally on your phone.
ā”ļøBoth apps are free, with no registrations and no ads.
Give it a try!)
š„øFor me, it was a challenge and a test of reality: has progress really become so "cheap" that the entry barrier has disappeared? The answer is yes.
