US President Donald Trump once again took aim at Iran on Thursday, saying that the country wants to negotiate a deal but is afraid to openly pursue one. Targeting the leadership, he further added, “there has never been a head of a country that wanted that job less than being the head of Iran.”

On the defence front, Trump claimed US systems had successfully neutralised a major missile barrage. “We had an attack. 100 missiles were shot by Iran at a very important thing that we had... 100 missiles going 2,000 miles an hour were coming at this element of tremendous power and importance. Of the 100 missiles coming at us, 100 missiles were immediately shot down, shot out of the air, and fell into the sea...,” Trump said.

British police ban pro-Iranian London march over 'extreme tensions'

LONDON, March 11 (Reuters) - British police have ​banned a pro-Iranian march that had been due to take place in ‌London on Sunday, citing the possibility of "extreme tensions" with counter-protesters and the risk posed by Tehran during the Iran war.
The annual Al Quds march is organised by the Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC), which ​police said was supportive of Iran's clerical rulers.

The ban, which required the approval of interior minister Shabana Mahmood, also ​applies to any counter-protest marches.
The IHRC had said on X that the march was to be in support of "Palestinian liberation".
"IHRC strongly condemns the decision by the Metropolitan Police to ban the Al ​Quds Day March," it said in an emailed statement on Wednesday, adding that it ​was seeking legal advice.
The police, who have been under scrutiny over their handling of pro-Palestinian protests ‌in ⁠London since the Gaza war began, said previous Al Quds marches had resulted in arrests of people suspected of supporting terrorist organisations and antisemitic hate crimes.

Speaking in a brief phone interview with Axios, Trump said there was “practically nothing left to target” in Iran.

“Little this and that… Any time I want it to end, it will end,” Trump said, adding that the conflict was progressing faster than expected.

“The war is going great. We are way ahead of the timetable. We have done more damage than we thought possible, even in the original six-week period,” he told Axios.

However, despite Trump’s optimistic tone, US and Israeli officials say there has been no formal directive on ending the fighting yet, and preparations are underway for at least two more weeks of strikes.

US intelligence recently detected that Iran had begun laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most crucial oil shipping routes.

Trump confirmed that US strikes destroyed 16 Iranian mine-laying boats on Tuesday, disrupting Tehran’s plans to threaten shipping lanes.

The commander of United States Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, said American forces were steadily weakening Iran’s ability to operate in the region.

“US forces continue delivering devastating combat power against the Iranian regime. US combat power is building, Iran’s combat power is declining,” Cooper said in a video message, adding that Iranian missile and drone attacks had dropped sharply.
