What I find useful about Sign Protocol is that it treats ownership and qualification less like static documents and more like claims that can be checked in context. That sounds small, but it changes the workflow.
A degree, a license, a public-service eligibility record, or a land title stops being just something you upload and hope another system accepts. It becomes a structured attestation tied to a schema, signed by an authorized issuer, and designed to be verified later with the right status checks. That matters because ownership and qualification are rarely one-step questions.
Usually someone wants to know who issued the claim, whether it is still valid, whether it has expired, whether it was revoked, and what evidence sits behind it.
Sign’s own materials are pretty clear on this. The Sign protocol supports attestations for educational credentials, professional licenses, public-service eligibility, land ownership, and broader property rights, while also supporting revocation, expiration, and selective disclosure where privacy matters.
I do not read that as “trust is solved.” It is more modest than that. Sign gives institutions and applications a shared way to express and verify claims, without forcing every system to reinvent proof from scratch. For ownership and qualifications, that is already a meaningful shift.
