One report adds that the president's son acknowledged Khamenei was injured in the war but is now safe .

Officials and Media Report Injuries: This denial follows a report by The New York Times, which cited three Iranian officials saying that Mojtaba Khamenei suffered injuries, including to his legs, on the first day of the U.S.-Israeli strikes on February 28 . The report states he is conscious and sheltering in a highly secure location with limited communication . Two Israeli military officials confirmed their defense establishment believes he sustained leg injuries .

State Media Hints at Condition: Adding to the uncertainty, Iran's state television and the state news agency IRNA have referred to the new Supreme Leader as the "wounded war veteran" . A statement from a government religious charity also congratulated him using the Persian term for a veteran wounded in war
