An exciting new achievement was recently recorded by Algorand. Working directly at the grassroots level to cultivate the upcoming wave of Algorand developers, @Algo_Bharat has successfully expanded its outreach all over India. This localized initiative now officially encompasses exactly 100 universities and features the creation of 100 dedicated blockchain clubs.
It is an absolute pleasure to share that five talented individuals are transitioning from Algorand Technologies to join the Algorand Foundation.
Taking on the role of Chief Scientific Officer is Chris Peikert, an esteemed computer science professor at the University of Michigan and a leading post-quantum cryptographer. He previously directed Algorand’s post-quantum security implementations, and he will maintain his focus on this critical initiative in his new capacity as Chief Scientific Officer.
Furthermore, our technical capabilities are being greatly enhanced by the addition of four engineers from AT. These experts will strengthen our technical team under the guidance of Bruno Martins, our newly appointed CTO.
John Jannotti comes aboard as the SVP of Protocol Engineering and will take charge of the Protocol Engineering team. Reporting directly to John are Pavel Zbitskiy and one additional team member, both of whom have been brought on as Principal Protocol Engineers.
Rounding out this group of new arrivals is John Lee, who is stepping into the position of Director of Protocol Infrastructure.
We are incredibly happy to welcome everyone to the team.
The Foundation is thrilled to share the news of three recent staff promotions.
Stepping into the role of Chief Technology Officer is Bruno Martins. Having previously served as Chief Architect and stepping in as acting CTO twice, Bruno will now direct protocol engineering. By applying his profound knowledge of key management systems, blockchain engineering, and applied cryptography, he is set to propel the future innovations of Algorand.
Additionally, we are elevating Will Beaumont from his previous title as Head of Pera Wallet to the position of Global Head of Product & Integrations. In this expanded capacity, Will takes charge of solutions delivery and product strategy spanning both the business and engineering sides, which includes his continued involvement with the Pera Wallet.
Rounding out these updates is Brian Whippo, who transitions from his past role as Head of Developer Relations to become the Senior Director of Integrations & Developer Tooling. Along with his ongoing responsibilities for developer tooling and developer relations, Brian is tasked with establishing a brand new practice. This initiative is designed to assist AI agents, ecosystem partners, and businesses as they bring new activity on-chain.
We’re excited to announce three promotions across the Foundation.
Bruno Martins, formerly Chief Architect and twice acting CTO, has been appointed Chief Technology Officer. Bruno will oversee protocol engineering and will bring his deep expertise in blockchain engineering, applied cryptography, and key management systems to drive Algorand’s future innovations.
Will Beaumont, formerly Head of Pera Wallet, has been promoted to Global Head of Product & Integrations. Will will be responsible for product strategy and solutions delivery across both business and engineering, including the Pera Wallet.
Brian Whippo, former Head of Developer Relations, has been promoted to Senior Director of Integrations & Developer Tooling. Brian will be responsible for developer relations and developer tooling, and he will build out a new practice to help businesses, ecosystem partners, and AI agents bring new activity on-chain.
Mark your calendars for the upcoming Algorand Community Call, scheduled to take place on March 25th at 12pm EST. We invite you to tune in as we share the most recent developments and news from across the Algorand ecosystem. Following these announcements, we will transition into a Q&A session to address your questions. You can catch the broadcast streaming live on both X and YouTube. We look forward to connecting with you.
Equipping your artificial intelligence agent with an Algorand wallet is now a reality. Thanks to a recent release by @GoPlausible, a new MCP server provides any AI assistant, whether that is Claude, Copilot, or Cline, with access to a comprehensive Algorand wallet and explorer. You will not need to rely on standalone applications or web browsers for this to work, because the wallet functionality becomes a native part of the agent itself. Find out more information about this update below.
The Algorand team made an appearance on stage for the @sxsw event taking place in Austin, Texas, this week. A keynote presentation focused on Agentic Commerce was given by CSMO @marcvl. Meanwhile, an engaging panel discussing humanitarian aid payments was guided by Director of Impact @mattkeller1, and the session featured a live demonstration of the revamped Aid Trust Portal.
We are happy to share that the @Algorand profile is active once again. You can expect us to use this page to deliver broad overviews regarding the Algorand protocol and the wider ecosystem. If you are seeking more frequent news, please make sure to connect with @AlgoFoundation. Additionally, be sure to check out @algodevs for anything focused on developers.
Algorand protocol development and ecosystem growth are now under one roof.
Algorand Foundation and Algorand Technologies ( @Algorand ) have come to a strategic agreement to unify ecosystem operations.
This agreement creates a unified powerhouse for blockchain innovation here in the United States and positions Algorand as the chain that enables financial empowerment at scale.
Due to an unpredictable global macroeconomic climate and the widespread decline across cryptocurrency markets, the Algorand Foundation has reached a profoundly challenging conclusion today. We are decreasing our total workforce by 25%. Reaching this outcome was incredibly difficult, as the departing staff members have been top-tier contributors to both the Foundation and our wider ecosystem. We want to express our deepest gratitude for their dedication, and we stand fully ready to assist these talented individuals as they navigate this career transition.
By taking these steps, we feel confident that the resources of the Algorand Foundation are now sustainably aligned with the long-term technology, business, and ecosystem objectives of the protocol. As we move forward, our organization remains completely dedicated to our core mission of financial empowerment. We will continue to drive the ongoing advancement and expansion of the Algorand protocol, network, and ecosystem.
We have received clear and official validation directly from the @SECGov. It is now an absolute certainty that $ALGO falls under the category of a digital commodity, completely dismissing the idea of it being a security. This definitive fact puts an end to any remaining debate on the matter.
Assistance initiatives frequently face funding reductions simply because contributors lack clear visibility into the final destination of their financial support. The Aid Trust Portal has arrived to completely resolve this issue.
By operating directly on the Algorand network, the platform provides real-time, on-chain monitoring of humanitarian aid movements. Not only does it feature integrated fraud detection, but it also guarantees that every single transaction can be independently verified on an immutable ledger.
Have you ever imagined debt market settlements completing in mere seconds rather than taking days?
An open source project created by @cusma_b using Algorand Python, D-ASA introduces programmable debt instruments to the Algorand network. The platform is specifically engineered to ensure zero counterparty risk through its DvP design. Furthermore, it features atomic settlement, fully traceable lifecycle events, and integrated compliance controls.
Please view the demonstration below to observe a complete end-to-end execution of DvP settlement on Algorand.
To hear the newest updates regarding Algorand, be sure to check out Algorand CEO @StaciW_DC's recent appearance on @TheSujalShow. She sat down with @SujalJethwani for an engaging conversation where a major highlight was the phenomenal work being accomplished by @MannDeshiOrg in India. During the interview, they explored how the organization is actively leveraging Algorand to broaden financial empowerment. You can view the entire video discussion just below.
During the @sxsw 2026 event in Austin, Texas, Algorand will be participating directly on the ground. Attendees can anticipate a keynote address from CSMO @marcvl focused on the subject of autonomous agentic payments. Along with this presentation, Senior Director of Impact @mattkeller1 is set to join a panel discussion exploring the ways blockchain technology is rebuilding trust regarding humanitarian aid payments.
A remarkable green initiative was the focus of a recent conversation between CEO @StaciW_DC and Algorand Board Chair @billbar during @Abundance360. They discussed how @EnelGroup, recognized as the largest energy supplier in Europe, has utilized the Algorand blockchain to tokenize solar panels. This exciting step is actively broadening access to sustainable energy for residents in Italy.
