bro I’ve been looking at this SIGN thing for like an hour and my brain’s kinda fried… like it makes sense, which is exactly what worries me
the whole idea just feels… too clean. like finally someone trying to fix that annoying loop where you keep verifying yourself again and again everywhere. you know that feeling when every dApp asks you to sign something and you’re like “didn’t I just do this 5 minutes ago?” yeah… that
and SIGN is basically like nah, do it once and chill after that
sounds great. actually sounds too great
I swear I’ve seen this pattern before… crypto loves these “simple fix” ideas and then somehow they just don’t stick. not because they’re bad, but because nobody agrees to use the same thing. everyone just builds their own version and acts like it’s better
that’s the part that bugs me
like yeah cool system, but who’s actually gonna adopt it? devs don’t like sharing standards, ecosystems don’t like depending on outside stuff… it’s like trying to get everyone to use the same charger again, we already saw how that went lol
but then there’s this other part of it… the distribution angle
idk why but that stuck with me more than the identity stuff. like most projects just throw tokens around and hope for the best, bots eat everything, real users get scraps… it’s messy, always messy
SIGN trying to make that smarter feels… actually useful?
but again… IF it works
and that “if” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here
also it’s kinda weird how quiet it is. like no crazy hype, no constant noise, nothing screaming “buy me now”. part of me likes that… feels less scammy. but also… in crypto, if nobody’s talking about you, do you even exist?
that’s where I get stuck
because I’ve seen good ideas die just because they weren’t loud enough, and I’ve seen garbage pump just because people wouldn’t shut up about it
SIGN feels like that quiet kid in class who might be really smart… or just not participating at all lol
and I keep going back and forth… like maybe this becomes one of those background things nobody thinks about but everyone uses. like WiFi… you don’t care how it works, you just expect it to be there
or maybe it just fades out and we forget it was ever a thing
both feel equally possible right now which is kinda annoying
so yeah… I’m not sold, not ignoring it either
just watching it like… cautiously interested but also slightly tired of believing these “this fixes everything” narratives again
