I’ve been watching this whole @SignOfficial OBI (Orange Basic Income) thing closely… and honestly, I don’t think people fully get what’s happening here.
At first, I also thought — okay, another airdrop, some hype, free tokens, move on. But the more I looked into it, the more it felt… different. Not perfect, not guaranteed, but definitely not “just free money”.
They’re basically testing behavior.
Like… they’re not just asking you to hold $SIGN. They’re watching how you hold it. Time matters here. Not just “I bought today”, but “I stayed”. That’s a big shift. Most projects reward speed… this one seems to reward patience. Kinda rare.
And yeah, that whole “social contract” thing sounded weird to me at first too. But in simple words, it’s like — you trust the system with your on-chain activity, and the system rewards you back based on that. No hidden stuff, everything visible. Code decides, not people.
One thing I noticed — many people are still keeping tokens on exchanges. Big mistake… like seriously. If it’s on CEX, for OBI it almost doesn’t exist. Not your wallet = not counted. Simple but painful truth.
Another interesting part is the collective side. It’s not just “me vs others”. If the network grows, everyone benefits. Feels more like a game level system than a typical airdrop. Kinda smart… because it pushes actual usage, not just farming.
But let’s be real for a second…
100M tokens sounds huge, but if too many people join, rewards can get thin. That’s just basic math. And we still don’t fully know what Season 2 will look like. Maybe better, maybe less generous. Bit of uncertainty there.
Right now it feels like Season 1 is more like positioning phase. Whoever is active early, consistent… they might get an edge later. Or maybe not. That’s the risk.
So yeah, I’m not fully bullish or bearish on this. I’m just… observing carefully.
Because in the end, this is bigger than rewards.
It’s like they’re trying to answer one question — can you design a system where people actually behave in a certain way, not just chase quick profit?
If it works… this could be copied everywhere.
If it doesn’t… just another hype loop we’ve seen before.
For now, I’m just making sure my activity is real. Not fake farming, not random clicks. Because sooner or later, systems like this expose that.
