I’ve been watching Sign Protocol development for some time.

They run hackathons where people build real apps, not just ideas. For example, Bhutan’s NDI hackathon created more than 13 apps around digital identity. Some are for government use, others for private use. That makes it feel real.

I like the structure. They provide documents, tools, and some guidance. Most hackathons are messy, but here I can actually learn something useful—not just build a quick demo and forget it.

Still, I don’t trust hype. Most hackathons are chaotic. People rush, ideas are not clear, and many projects fail at the end. Only a few continue after.

The real value is learning fast and meeting serious builders.

This one feels a bit different because people are actually building and testing real things.

I’m watching it because it works, not because of hype.

I focus on learning by seeing what people actually build.
