Focusing on Technology and Ecology: An Overview of @walrusprotocol and $WAL
The fields of RWA asset tokenization and decentralized storage are currently two major directions of focus, and @walrusprotocol is one of the projects that is simultaneously laying out in these two tracks. The value logic of its native token $WAL is also deeply tied to the project's technological progress and ecological landing.
From a technical architecture perspective, Walrus Protocol is built on the Sui public chain and uses the Move language to develop a programmable storage system. Its core RedStuff two-dimensional erasure code technology optimizes data sharding and redundancy mechanisms, reducing the replication factor of decentralized storage to 4.5 times, significantly improving data recovery efficiency compared to traditional solutions, and alleviating the long-standing high cost issues in this field to some extent. In the RWA asset on-chain process, the project has established a hybrid rights confirmation system, collaborating with 18 authoritative nodes worldwide to cross-verify asset ownership and integrating official data sources to synchronize information, compressing the asset rights confirmation cycle from the industry average of 15 days to 3 days, with an error rate controlled below 0.01%. Additionally, the built-in compliance audit engine can adapt to regulatory requirements in regions like the EU MiCA and the US SEC, providing a compliance foundation for the cross-border circulation of assets.
