š A true friend... puts the rope on for you.
(A real story to reflect on)
A man condemned to the gallows asked the king for one last wish:
to see his mother one last time, who lived far away.
The king, ironically generous, agreedā¦
but placed a condition:
āYou can goā¦
if someone agrees to die in your place if you do not return.
Many would have resigned themselves.
He did not.
He went straight to look for his best friendā¦
and without thinking too much, that friend said yes.
They put him in prison.
They set a date for his death: the seventh day.
And as the hours passed, the soldiers mocked him:
āDo you really think he will come back?
āHeās going to let you die!
But the hostage⦠did not lose his calm.
Not on the sixth day.
Not in the early morning of the seventh day.
Not when they put the rope around his neck.
He was calm.
Because he had something that many do not understand:
loyalty.
And an unbreakable faith in his friend.
āHeās ready to die! āthey told the king.
āPoor fool! āthe monarch replied.
But just before they gave the orderā¦
a distance away, a man appeared riding at full speed.
It was the condemned man.
He came back, just in time, keeping his word.
The king, moved, freed both of them.
And not out of compassionā¦
but out of respect.
Because he understood that he had witnessed something that power cannot buy:
a bond of honor.
š¤ Life lesson:
Promises are not trinkets to look good.
They are sacred commitments.
And those who fulfill more than they promiseā¦
are worth more than a thousand empty words.
š¬ Do you have a friend like that?
Or were you the one who ever risked your life for someone?
Leave your story below.
Because today more than ever⦠the world needs real loyalty
