What’s been sitting with me about SIGN is that it doesn’t treat these as separate problems. It kind of leans into the uncomfortable part—that verification and distribution are tied together whether we like it or not. You can’t really trust an outcome if you don’t trust the claim behind it. A way to keep participants aligned without constantly forcing them into place. Not hype, not a shortcut, just a kind of glue. But even that comes with risk. Incentives are tricky. They don’t just guide people, they reshape how people act over time. And sometimes in ways you don’t expect.

So I don’t think the real question is whether it works right now. Most things can work in calm conditions. What I’m more interested in is what happens when it’s under stress. When there’s more volume, more edge cases, more pressure to move fast. That’s when systems show what they’re actually made of.

When that moment comes, I’m not going to look at dashboards or numbers first. I’ll look at something simpler. Does the system still make sense without explanation? Or does it start leaning on people to interpret, fix, and smooth things over?

I don’t have a clear answer yet. I’m just waiting to see where the weight ends up when it really matters.
