The Perp DEX battle is reshaping the derivatives trading landscape. The on-chain perpetual contract platform led by Hyperliquid is eating into the market share of CEXs, but can it truly shake the dominance of Binance and OKX?

In terms of trading volume, Hyperliquid's daily trading volume has surpassed $8 billion, outpacing most second-tier CEXs, but there is still a 3-5 times gap compared to Binance's daily average of over $50 billion in perpetual contracts. However, this growth rate is worth noting, as the ecological activity surged after the launch of the $HYPE token.

Regarding the fee structure, dYdX V4 adopts a maker/taker fee rate of 0.025%/0.05%, while GMX's zero slippage trading model, although slightly higher in fees, offers a better user experience. In comparison, Binance's 0.02%/0.04% fee rate still has an advantage, but the transparency of on-chain DEXs and the absence of KYC become differentiating competitive points.

The arbitrage space for funding rates is expanding. Emerging platforms like Aster Network and GRVT frequently exhibit significant deviations in funding rates to compete for liquidity, providing opportunities for arbitrageurs. Orderly Network's order book model is also challenging the dominance of the AMM mechanism.

The liquidation mechanism is a key difference. GMX's GLP pool bears counterparty risk, while Hyperliquid employs a CEX-like order book + insurance fund model, making risk distribution more reasonable.

The biggest advantages of on-chain perpetual contracts are transparency and composability. Users can view all positions and capital flows in real-time, something that CEXs can never offer. The current Fear & Greed Index is only 9 (extreme fear), making it a good time to observe these platforms' risk resistance capabilities.

Operational advice: Pay attention to the ecological development of $DYDX and $GMX, while closely tracking the TVL growth of emerging platforms; utilize the differences in funding rates between different platforms for arbitrage, but be mindful of on-chain Gas costs.
