I am caicai. Today let's discuss a perspective that many people are not aware of—

The real moat of SIGN is not technology, but the 'certification network effect.'

What does it mean?

Do you see why EarthPay can thrive? It's not because the technology is amazing, but because all merchants are using it; if you don't use it, you won't get anywhere.

SIGN is doing the same thing.

The on-chain proof (Attestation) it provides is essentially a globally recognized credit certificate. Once you have verified your identity on SIGN, stored a contract, or issued an asset, that record will remain on the chain forever. Next time, no matter where you go, you don't have to prove 'I am me' again.

This is the network effect— the more people use it, the lower the trust cost for each participant.

The data also shows: TokenTable has distributed assets to over 40 million wallets, with more than 200 projects using it, and systems are running in Sierra Leone, the UAE, and Kyrgyzstan.

This is not a concept; there are indeed people using it and real institutions connecting.

I've thought about it, and SIGN's moat has several characteristics:

First, the switching cost is extremely high. Once your credit credentials are on the SIGN chain, switching to another system means proving everything again— no one is willing to do that.

Second, the bilateral network effect. More projects onboard → more users using → more data accumulation → attracting more projects to onboard. Once the positive cycle starts, it's hard for latecomers to catch up.

Third, the first-mover advantage is obvious. Once a national-level project (Sierra Leone digital ID) is implemented, the cost of switching is astronomical.

Of course, risks also exist:

· Real utility of the token: If settlements do not go through $SIGN, the network effect is discounted.

· Competitors catching up: Other on-chain proof protocols are also making moves.

But overall, SIGN is not creating a 'product', but is building a 'trust network'. Once the network is established, everything else will follow smoothly.

caicai's musings: Technology can be replicated, code can be forked, but the network effect that has already been established is difficult to overturn.

Do you think SIGN's 'certification network' can outperform its competitors? Let's discuss your views in the comments.

Still the same saying: I only trust what I can see and touch.
