Sierra Leone - The Place Sign Chooses to Prove It Can Be Done

Every investor will ask: “Where have you done it?” With @SignOfficial , the answer is becoming clear: Sierra Leone. This is not a random choice. 73% of the population has identification numbers, but only 5% have actual ID cards. The consequence is that 66% are excluded from finance, most farmers do not have access to digital services, and support programs struggle to reach the right people. The issue here is not vague - it is present, clear, and measurable.

More importantly, Sierra Leone is not starting from scratch. Since 2019, they have been experimenting with digital identity on the blockchain with Kiva and the United Nations. Sign is entering not to “reinvent the wheel”, but to continue building - with a government that is ready. According to an agreement with the Ministry of Technology & Communication, Sign will deploy infrastructure including digital identity, a national wallet, stablecoin payments, and tokenization of real assets.

Why not the Middle East? Because those markets need proof. They do not bet on hypotheses. Sierra Leone is that proof. If a country with limited resources can successfully implement it, then wealthier places will have no reason to hesitate. And at that point, Sierra Leone is not just a project but a gateway to larger negotiations.
