There’s a strange pattern I can’t unsee… the more a system promises control, the less aware people seem of what they’re actually giving up.
I didn’t think like this when I first came across MidnightNetwork and @SignOfficial with $SIGN
At that time, it felt clean in my head.
Privacy stays protected.
Verification stays reliable.
Everything separated, everything balanced.
But lately it feels like that view was too neat.
Because what happens after people start living inside these systems… is different.
They adapt.
Not to reality… but to what the system recognizes.
What gets accepted.
What passes through.
And over time, behavior starts aligning with those invisible rules.
Even privacy doesn’t fully escape it.
It just shifts what becomes visible.
And verification doesn’t just confirm truth…
it quietly amplifies certain versions of it.
The system doesn’t break.
It keeps working exactly as designed.
But people inside it… start changing in ways no one really measures.
Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but it feels like we’re not just building infrastructure anymore…
we’re shaping how people exist within it.
And I keep thinking…
are we designing systems for humans…
or slowly designing humans for systems?
