When I reread the ID system of Sign and gradually realized that I might have misunderstood the starting point of identity. Initially, I thought this was just a familiar variant of DID, but upon closer reading, especially in how Sign places “attestation” at the center, I began to see that they do not view ID as a static entity but as a result of various attestations. From there, elements like schema or query are no longer just technical details, but become the foundation for preserving the meaning and usability of the data. However, even though this direction seems to touch on a layer deeper than many other systems, I remain cautious because becoming a standard depends not only on the design but also on whether there is a sufficient ecosystem to accept and use it.
