Navigation Paralysis: Ship traffic through the strait has decreased by up to 95%. Currently, very few ships are crossing daily compared to an average of 60 ships in normal times.
List of "Friendly Countries": Iran has announced that it will allow the passage of ships from countries it considers "non-hostile," such as Russia, India, Iraq, and Pakistan, in addition to Thai ships after diplomatic coordination.
Toll Fees: Tehran attempted to impose exorbitant toll fees of up to two million dollars for each large oil tanker (VLCC) in exchange for securing its passage, which the international community deemed "extortion" and illegal.
