📢 Musk has really turned up the "madness" this time! The newly announced TeraFab superchip factory has completely stunned me.
All the official evidence just released: teaming up with Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI to build a 2-nanometer chip factory in Austin, Texas, aiming for an annual production capacity of AI chips with 1 terawatt of computing power—equivalent to 50 times the current total global AI computing power, with 80% of the capacity dedicated to space business, and the remainder for autonomous driving, humanoid robots, and xAI large models.
The most outrageous part is the scale of investment: so far, only $20 billion has been spent, which isn't even enough to cover the project’s initial costs. Professional institutions estimate that to achieve the target, the total investment needs to exceed $4 trillion at a minimum, and could soar to $5 trillion, higher than the combined market value of Apple and Nvidia.
Honestly, with Musk raising the computing power target to this level, the AI and decentralized computing sectors in our crypto world might be about to see a new wave of interest. Do you all think this is a world-changing project or just a grand illusion? Let's discuss in the comments.
