Brazil has passed a new law targeting organized crime, signed into law by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Tuesday this week.
This law allows law enforcement agencies to seize, confiscate, or freeze digital or virtual assets, including Bitcoin, when there is credible evidence of serious crimes, and allows for early liquidation with court authorization in certain cases, with the proceeds allocated to public security.
