The average price of the Egyptian pound in banks fell against the dollar by about 48 piasters to 52.76 pounds for buying and 52.86 pounds for selling at the end of Thursday's transactions, according to data from the Central Bank of Egypt.
Since the outbreak of US-Iranian tensions, the pound has dropped to its lowest level against the dollar, with a decrease approaching 10%, amid partial exit pressures from foreign investors from treasury bills and increased demand for imports.
