In 1979, an Italian military pilot photographed an unidentified cylindrical object that hovered in the sky during a flight.
‼️This incident became one of the most reliable pieces of evidence of UFOs due to radar confirmation.
The object had a cylindrical shape, at least 8 meters long and up to 3 meters in diameter, hovering motionless at an altitude of 4000 meters, not reacting to the turbulence from the aircraft.
👥Intercept and photo
Checconi made 7-8 passes at a distance of 70-80 meters at a speed of 300 knots, capturing 82 frames. The object suddenly disappeared from radar and visually, leaving no traces.
The photographs clearly show a metallic cylinder without visible wings or engines, which does not correspond to known technologies of that time.

The incident is confirmed by radar, ground observers, and film analysis; no refutations have been found. Checconi described the object as "a tank in the sky," hovering without movement.
