Iran does not accept a ceasefire – report:
The Iranian state media said the country did not accept a ceasefire offer from the U.S. on Wednesday.
According to “an informed source,” the FARS News Agency state media outlet said there have been U.S. efforts to end the war and start indirect talks with Iran, CNBC reported.
The news agency said its source stated that “it is not logical to enter into such a process with those who violate the agreement.”
In addition, the source reportedly said Iran intends to realize its strategic goals as the conflict continues, and only then could there be a possibility of a ceasefire.
A New York Times report also said on Tuesday the U.S. had sent Iran a 15-point plan to end the war in the Middle East, delivered through Pakistani intermediaries. The proposal reportedly reflected the Trump administration’s eagerness to find an end to the conflict.
Also on Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran had offered the U.S. a “present” worth “a tremendous amount of money” as a show of good faith amid ongoing negotiations to allegedly end the war.
The president had said this present was related to energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz.
