🛑 Is it the end of "spam" or the beginning of censorship in Bitcoin? The dilemma of BIP-110

The Bitcoin community is burning. While the price struggles to consolidate above $70,000, a silent technical war is dividing miners, developers, and nodes: the activation of BIP-110.

🔍 What is the debate about?

After the Bitcoin Core 30 update, the limits for inscribing data on the blockchain were relaxed, allowing a boom of Ordinals and BRC-20. BIP-110 proposes to tighten these limits again to "clean" the network.

⚔️ The two sides in Binance Square:

The Purists ("Yes" Side): They argue that Bitcoin is money, not a hard drive. The excess of data (images, unnecessary tokens) is inflating the size of nodes, increasing fees and taking us away from Satoshi's original vision. "Without cleaning, there is no scalability".

The Visionaries ("No" Side): They argue that any attempt to limit which transactions are "valid" is a form of censorship. If someone pays the fee, they have the right to use block space. Moreover, these activities generate vital income for miners post-halving. "If it is a valid transaction, it is not spam".

⚠️ The Real Risk: Chain Split?

With an activation threshold of 55%, the fear of a chain split (fork) is real. A network divided in the midst of a volatile market could be the recipe for a massive correction.
