the standard Glacier Drop redemption story is 360 days. four installments. thaw schedule. most people stop there.
but theres a second window nobody is discussing. after the 360-day thaw completes, claimants get an additional 90-day grace period to redeem via the Claim Portal. so the actual total redemption window is 450 days from mainnet launch — not 360.
the grace period exists for one specific reason. the Claim Portal requires active interaction. a claimant who finishes their thaw but misses the portal interaction window within 360 days doesnt immediately lose their tokens. they get 90 more days.
after day 450 though — the Claim Portal goes offline permanently. no extension. no appeal. whatever remains unclaimed must be retrieved directly from the smart contract using your own technical means. no guided interface.
was studying BITCOIN UTXO model earlier — unclaimed outputs technically never expire on Bitcoin. Midnight is a completely different design. day 451, the easy door closes.
