Scientists were amazed when they studied the brain during prostration (Sajdah)

When a person goes into prostration during prayer, their head touches the ground while the body remains slightly elevated. For us, it is a matter of faith that in this position, a person is closest to their Lord. But did you know that prostration has not only spiritual benefits but physical ones as well?

In this position, the brain performs some remarkable functions. Normally, when we are standing, the heart has to work harder to pump blood up to the brain. However, in prostration, since the head is lowered, gravity helps increase blood flow toward the brain.

As a result, the front part of the brain receives fresh, oxygen-rich blood. This is the part responsible for shaping personality, aiding decision-making, and reducing stress and anxiety. In this way, bowing your head before your Creator helps refresh your nervous system and promotes brain health.
