In 1970-ies Henry Kissinger made global agreement all global oil to be payed in us dollars. So when Sadam decided to sell Iraq's oil to his European buyers in their currencies, you know what happened.
Now...Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and some other US friendly countries decided to export oil to China and to be paid in yuans. So look who Iran is attacking? Iran was just provocated to punish countries who decide to left petrodollar. And what about the war in Ukraine? Did someone heard something last two weeks?
