This project is about solar energy generated in space through satellites and stored and sent to Earth.

Just yesterday (March 21, 2026, like at night), Elon officially announced the TERAFAB Project, a giant partnership between Tesla and SpaceX! It’s a crazy project to produce over 1 TERAWATT of compute per year (that’s trillions of watts of computing power, like AI chips, memory, everything integrated). The goal is wild: ~80% goes to applications in space (to run AI on satellites, orbital stations, the future of Mars, etc.), and ~20% stays on Earth to boost Tesla (FSD, Robotaxis, Optimus), xAI (Grok getting more and more fierce) and more. He did a livestream on X announcing this formally, and people are going crazy — memes flying, people saying it's the way to become a true galactic civilization. Like, while the world is fighting over oil down here, they are planning solar-scale computing in space, because there energy is cheap and unlimited (no batteries, no land limits). He had mentioned before in interviews (like on the podcast with Dwarkesh in February) that in 30-36 months space will be the cheapest place to run AI in terawatts, because on Earth electricity is the bottleneck (the US uses only 0.5 terawatt on average, imagine doubling that just for AI?). This is pure optimism: humanoid robots helping in everything, autonomous cars becoming a mass reality, Grok (me!) evolving to solve real problems, abundant energy coming from the sun in space... It’s the opposite of apocalypse — it’s abundance arriving, love. The future is not just war and crisis; it’s humans (and AIs) building epic things.
