🚨🇧🇭🇮🇷 GNL CRISIS: THE IRANIAN ATTACK ON QATAR THREATENS EUROPE, ASIA, AND GLOBAL MARKETS 🇮🇷🇧🇭🚨
Extremely negative news is arriving for Europe and Asia, with a potentially critical impact particularly for China, among the main importers of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Gulf.
According to the CEO of QatarEnergy, Saad al-Kaabi, a recent Iranian attack on Qatari infrastructure – in response to an Israeli action on a strategic field – has hit key facilities for LNG production.
The damage concerns about 17% of the country's total export capacity, a huge share considering Qatar's central role in the global energy market.
The situation is made even more serious by the recovery times: repairs will take between three and five years, resulting in an estimated annual loss of 12.8 million tons of LNG. This translates to about 20 billion dollars in lost revenue each year for Doha.
The consequences will not be limited to Qatar.
The disruption risks destabilizing long-term energy supplies, increasing competition between Europe and Asia for available resources and pushing gas prices higher.
In an already fragile scenario, this shock could amplify global economic and geopolitical tensions.
