Ah, now that I think back to when I first saw the Midnight Network task, I really felt ignited.

On the night of March 12, I was browsing the plaza and came across the CreatorPad's Midnight special, with a total prize pool of 2,000,000 NIGHT, and the top 500 Chinese speakers could separately share 1,000,000. It’s a privacy project personally led by Charles Hoskinson, and it’s already on Binance; the concept of rational privacy sounds both advanced and practical.

I thought at the time: Isn't this like a pie falling from the sky? Charge! I must rush into the top 500 Chinese speakers!

That night I directly clicked 'Join Now', and then started cramming like crazy.

I went through Midnight's white paper, documents, official website, and Discord all over.

The core concept is called 'Rational Privacy'—it's not as extreme as Monero's anonymity, nor is it as fully transparent as ordinary public chains, but it uses ZK zero-knowledge proofs to allow you to selectively disclose: proving you are compliant, of legal age, and not involved in money laundering, but keeping the specific data hidden.

They have implemented a dual ledger (public state governs, private state hides sensitive data), and developers can write privacy smart contracts using the Compact language (which is similar to TypeScript).

There's also the NIGHT+DUST dual token model, holding NIGHT automatically generates DUST as privacy fuel.

After hearing this, I became even more excited, thinking if this thing really launches the mainnet at the end of March, wouldn't institutional RWA, medical data, and compliant DeFi all become attractive?

I also did market analysis.

Although Binance fell back more than 60% after its listing, the 24-hour trading volume has basically remained at 250-300 million dollars, mainly supported by Binance's main liquidity pool.

Glacier Drop has over 450 million tokens still being unlocked in phases, with a wave every 90 days. The selling pressure is indeed large, but I believe that once the mainnet is launched, institutional investors can hedge against it.

I even made a simple table comparing Midnight with Aztec and ZEROBASE, and the more I compare, the more I feel that Midnight's 'rational' positioning is the most realistic.

So I started writing posts desperately.

Every night I post on time, paired with AI simulation screenshots of Midnight City, price candlestick charts, and mainnet countdown posters, and I also go for mutual likes and comments.

One night I wrote until 2 AM, and the next morning I found that the views were just over 200, and the points were climbing like a turtle.

I comfort myself, maybe it's because T+2 hasn't updated yet, just hold on for a few more days.

As a result... by sticking it out until today, I am ranked over 1000 in the Chinese rankings.

Watching the March 26 event about to end, I spent 2-3 hours every day researching, writing posts, and giving mutual likes, seriously like doing a side job, yet this is the result I got.

The post with the highest views only had over 300, and the comment section was eerily quiet. The points are rising so slowly that it feels despairing. I even started to doubt whether my content was too shallow? Or does the algorithm not favor my serious type?

Now I sit here, my heart is really a bit tired.

It's not that the Midnight project is bad.

I still feel that the direction of rational privacy has potential. The dual ledger + Compact language indeed lowers the threshold for developers. If the mainnet can really stabilize, the friendliness of institutions is much stronger than that of pure privacy coins.

But the reality is so cruel: I have done everything I could, gone through the materials dozens of times, analyzed the market, written dozens of posts, yet I still couldn't make it into the top 500.

Maybe this is the cruelty of the plaza mission. When enthusiasm is high, it feels like the world is yours, but when disheartened, one realizes that sometimes effort is just not enough.

What about you?

Are you also working on this task? How many points do you have now? Are you as exhausted as I am, or are you still holding on? Let's talk in the comment section, and I’ll see if there’s still a chance to turn things around...
