"Fire Falls" in America
Every February in Yosemite, nature puts on a show that could easily win an Oscar for special effects. For a couple of evenings, Horse Tail Falls transforms into a veritable "fire stream"—it looks like molten lava is flowing over the cliff.
But the secret is simple: the sunset light, falling at the perfect angle, colors the streams of water in bright orange and red tones. The trick lasts only 10-15 minutes and only happens under three conditions: plenty of meltwater, a perfectly clear sky, and the right February sunset. If you catch it in time, consider yourself lucky.
