While we consider Bitcoin to be a pioneer, its roots go back to the 1980s! In 1983, computer scientist David Chaum developed a system called "DigiCash," an early form of digital money. Although "DigiCash" ultimately did not succeed, it paved the way for subsequent innovations that led to the emergence of Bitcoin.
