Family, I was really scared! 😭
Who would have thought, working remotely from Abu Dhabi, as the geopolitical situation fluctuated, my commonly used overseas bank card was suddenly frozen due to 'risk control'. What's even more outrageous is that the local rental agent happened to come to verify my identity; since my card couldn't be used, he actually suspected that I was committing identity fraud and gave me 24 hours to prove 'I am who I am', or I would have to pack up and leave.
At that moment, I felt like a 'digital refugee', those paper proofs in my hand were powerless against network outages and system crashes.
