The new law (ECA Digital) was created to protect children and adolescents, requiring robust age verification on digital platforms and targeting the disclosure of "Gambling Games" online. The problem?
The law is so broad that it could affect games with casino mechanics, such as the famous Diamond Casino & Resort from #GTA Online.
💣 THE BOMB HAS DROPPED » SALES SUSPENDED
Since March 16, it is no longer possible to purchase GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, or any other title directly through the Rockstar launcher in Brazil. The company apparently preferred to block sales rather than hurriedly adapt to a complex and still uncertain law.
✅ BUT DON’T WORRY, YOUR GAMES ARE SAFE
If you already own the games, you can continue playing normally, including access to your games and the purchase of Shark Cards and Gold Bars.
The ban only affects new acquisitions on the Rockstar platform.
