Will Strategy soon reach 1 million Bitcoins this year?
Regularly every weekend, Saylor hints at accumulating more Bitcoin. Regardless of market fluctuations, wars, or significant stock price drops, Strategy consistently increases its holdings, often at a very fast pace.
According to CoinDesk, the prospect of Strategy owning 1 million BTC by the end of 2026 (nearly 5% of the total supply) is not too far-fetched because:
- The company is holding 738,731 BTC, needing an additional 261,269 BTC.
- There are ~42 weeks left, needing to buy an average of ~6,158 BTC/week.
Since implementing Bitcoin reserves in August 2020, Strategy has accumulated an average of 10,700 BTC/month (~128,000 BTC/year). However, the recent pace has been significantly faster:
- From the beginning of 2026 until now, it has purchased 64,948 BTC, with 17,994 BTC accumulated just last week.
- This week, the purchase volume is also expected to reach 11,000 BTC as the company just had a very successful STRC stock offering that raised additional capital.
