The prepaid card from Banco de Venezuela is a digital card in dollars that allows you to pay online or subscribe to international services.
Unlike a traditional credit card:
✅Does not lend you money
✅Does not generate debt
✅You can only spend the money you have in your account
In other words: it works like a rechargeable card.
🪪 Requirements to have it
To be able to access this card you need:
✔ Have an active account at the Bank of Venezuela
✔ Have the BDVApp installed
✔ Activate a currency account (USD) within the bank
✔ Buy or deposit dollars in that account
Once you have a balance in currency, the bank's system can assign you the digital card.
⚙️ Step by step to obtain it
1️⃣ Go to the BDVApp
Open the bank application and log in with your user.
2️⃣ Open your currency account
Look for the option:
Currency → open account in foreign currency
This will allow you to have a balance in dollars within the bank.
3️⃣ Buy or deposit dollars
From the same app you can buy currency.
The bank allows you to buy from 1 dollar up to larger amounts depending on availability.
You can also deposit dollars directly at the counter.
4️⃣ Wait for the card assignment
After having a balance in dollars, the bank usually activates the digital card automatically.
In many cases, it appears in the app within 24 to 48 hours.

🔓 How to activate it
Once your card appears:
1️⃣ Go to Cards
2️⃣ Select the dollar card
3️⃣ Activate the option 'Online Purchases'
After activating it, wait a few minutes before making your first purchase.
🌎 What you can pay with this card
With this card you can pay:
✅Netflix
✅Spotify
✅digital services
✅purchases on international websites
✅subscription platforms
Everything is directly debited from your dollar account.
⚠️ Important information you should know
This card:
is 100% digital
it does not have a physical card
only serves for electronic payments
does not allow cash withdrawals

✔ activate online purchases before buying
✔ check that you have enough balance
