Everyone wants to talk about AI agents
Very few are asking the only question that matters, where is the real demand?
Around 1.5 years ago, when I first started understanding the agentic era, I was not just thinking about better tools.
I was thinking about a new economy.
Back in November 2024, I wrote about a future where #Aİ agents would become more autonomous, coordinate with each other and integrate into daily life as real participants in economic activity.
That vision still feels right. But today, the market is sending a clear message.
As Artemis pointed out, real x402 activity is collapsing
◉ ~731K transactions per day in December
◉ ~57K transactions per day in February
◉ just ~8% of prior highs
And that matters. Because it tells us something most people still do not want to admit:
the infrastructure for agent commerce is moving faster than the demand for it
The rails are forming.
The interfaces are improving.
The architecture is becoming real.
But real adoption still needs one thing above all, a reason
A real reason for users to trust agents
A real reason for businesses to integrate them.
A real reason for markets to let them transact at scale.
That does not break the thesis.
It sharpens it.
The future of agent commerce is still coming. But demand has not caught up yet
And that is exactly why I cared about this space so early.
Because even back then, in 2024, I did not just want to comment on the shift.
I wanted to build for it.
I had a dream to create a strong, well structured team and build something real in the agentic space.
Not something made for hype.
Something made to last.
Something useful when this market matures.
Something that matters when infrastructure finally meets real demand.
I still believe the agent economy is coming.
But now I believe something even more important, the winners will not be the ones who talked about it first
they will be the ones who built before everyone else understood why it mattered
And that is still the side I want to be on
