Aptos Labs is preparing to launch Confidential APT on mainnet.

Instead of full anonymity, the system encrypts balances and transaction amounts while keeping wallet addresses visible — a middle ground between privacy and compliance.

This could solve a key problem in crypto:

• Regulators fear complete anonymity

• Institutions don’t want zero privacy

Aptos seems to be targeting that balance with a full-stack approach:

• Keyless Accounts → identity privacy

• Confidential APT → hidden balances & amounts

• Encrypted mempool → protection from front-running

If institutions start using these features, demand for $APT could naturally increase.
