$FET Within hours of the announcement that the U.S. federal government would end the use of artificial intelligence tools developed by the technology company "Anthropic", President Trump launched a major airstrike in Iran using those very tools.
Military leadership around the world, including the U.S. Central Command in the Middle East, is using the artificial intelligence tool "Claude" developed by Anthropic, according to sources familiar with the matter reported by The Wall Street Journal.
The sources stated that the command is using the tool for intelligence assessments, target identification, and simulating battle scenarios, even as tensions rose between the company and the U.S. Department of Defense, highlighting the extent to which artificial intelligence tools have become entrenched in military operations.
The U.S. administration and Anthropic have been at odds for months over how its AI models should be used by the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon).
