The former Colombian presidential candidate Miguel Uribe Londoño stated that the financing for the assassination of his son, Congressman Miguel Uribe Turbay, originated in Venezuela.

The claim was made during an extensive interview with Revista Semana, in which he also revealed details of his departure from the Centro Democrático, his presidential candidacy, and his views on the security crisis in Colombia.
