U.S. and Israel attack Iran Trump announces significant combat operations
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, says that the United States has initiated "significant combat operations" in Iran after Israel also stated that it had launched missile attacks against the country.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard claims to have launched the first large-scale wave of missile and drone attacks in retaliation against Israel.
Bahrain claims that a missile attack targeted the headquarters of the U.S. Fifth Fleet in the country, while a missile was intercepted in Qatar. An explosion was also reported in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, while countries in the region closed their airspace.
Multiple explosions have been heard in Iran's capital, Tehran, while explosions have also been reported in several other locations in the country.
