What is Layer 1?
Layer 1 is the foundation of a blockchain – like the main highway where everything starts.
It:
• Processes and finalizes all transactions.
• Keeps the network secure and running.
• Has its own native token used to pay fees (gas) for using the network.
Examples: Bitcoin $BTC , Ethereum $ETH , or BNB Chain $BNB – each has its own base layer and token for fees.
