#StablecoinLaw 🏛️ What the GENIUS Act Establishes

Signed by President Trump on July 18, 2025, it is the first real federal law that regulates dollar-pegged stablecoins.

It requires a 1:1 backing with liquid assets (cash or Treasury bills), monthly audits, public disclosure of reserves, and priority for users in case of bankruptcy.

It establishes dual oversight: federal regulators (FDIC, OCC, Fed) or state regulators depending on the issuer's scale, and limits the entry of foreign issuers without comparable standards.
