Miner earns R$ 1.8 million after finding Bitcoin block

Kolinas said it could be a farm with 10 Antminer S21 ASICs. According to the manufacturer's website, each machine costs $5,400, which would amount to an investment of $54,000

A miner received a reward of 3.1 bitcoins this Thursday (3) after finding a block alone on the network. The amount is valued at R$ 1.8 million.

Before him, another miner achieved the same feat on June 4, exactly one month ago, which shows the rarity of these events.

At the time of this writing, Bitcoin is trading in the range of $108,000, down 1.5% in the last 24 hours.

Probability of the miner finding a block was 1 in every 8 years

In a statement released on social media, Don Kolinas, owner of CK Pool, stated that the miner in question had a computational power of only 2.3 PH (peta hash), making the feat even more difficult.

“Congratulations to miner bc1q~9sj3 with 2.3 PH for solving block number 301 on CK Pool's European server! A miner of this size has about a 1 in 2800 chance of finding a block per day, or on average once every 8 years.”
