Automated Trading: When Risk Management Becomes Victory
๐ Sharing the reality of my operations with Futures Grid Bots. Not everything is green charts, and today I bring you an update that I consider more valuable than any profit.
The Operation:
* Pair: HIGH/USDT
* Strategy: Short Futures Grid Bot (Short) 12x. ๐ป
* Duration: 3 hours and 13 minutes. โฑ๏ธ
The Result:
As you can see in the capture, the bot closed with a Current PyG of -0.69% (-0.06 USDT). Why? ๐ด
The Technical and Emotional Lesson:
The HIGH/USDT market decided to move strongly against my Short strategy. The price rose steadily, generating unrealized losses. ๐๐
Here is where discipline overcame hope:
Instead of waiting and risking a greater liquidation due to the 12x leverage, I made the decision to stop the bot manually.
Key Lessons for the Community:
* Stop-Loss is Non-Negotiable: Recognizing when your market thesis has been invalidated is crucial.
* Automation Does Not Mean Neglect: Bots are powerful tools, but they require supervision.
* Capital Management: By closing with a controlled loss (-0.69%), I protected 99% of my capital for the next opportunity.
* Turnaround Opportunity: In retrospect, a Long Futures Bot would have been the winning move for this movement, but we only know that afterward.
It's not about not making mistakes; it's about learning from them and having the discipline to protect your account. The lesson was received, analyzed, and overcome. Tomorrow is a new trading day!
Are you more into using automatic Stop-Losses or do you prefer manual intervention like I did?
