First trade, first lesson: when the market gives you back more than you sent
Good morning world, today from #Petare I executed my first serious move in futures. I transferred 5 USDT to spot and received 5.22. It wasn't a technical feat nor a masterstroke… but it was a clear signal: the practice starts now.
I don't know if it was luck, timing, or just a good coincidence. What I do know is that:
- The initial fear doesn't go away, but it can be navigated
- Execution matters more than perfection
- Documenting from day one is part of the process, not the ego
The truth is that I opened a short position in $ETH from 4372.91 (I decided at 4377 but being a novice, I took too long to place the order) I leveraged with 5x and set a stop loss at 4410 and take profit at 4310. The price dropped to 4320 and attempted a bounce to 4330, I got scared and raised my take profit to 4321 and stayed there. I looked later and it was around 4280 but I consider it was a good move and I gained experience and I feel happy about that. Summary: 5 $USDT turned into 5.22 I hope to keep trading and learning.
