About spot, Hold and future 💸
Trading on Binance involves different strategies depending on your risk tolerance and goals. Here is a breakdown of how to use Spot, Hold (HODL), and Futures.
1. Spot Trading (Buying and Owning)
Spot trading is the most basic form of trading. You buy the actual cryptocurrency (like Bitcoin or Ethereum) and own it instantly.
* How to do it:
* Go to the Trade tab and select Spot.
* Select a trading pair (e.g., BTC/USDT if you want to buy Bitcoin using USDT).
* Choose your order type:
* Limit Order: Set a specific price you want to buy at. The trade only happens if the market reaches that price.
* Market Order: Buy immediately at the current market price.
* Enter the amount and click Buy BTC.
* Goal: Buy low, sell high. You only profit if the price goes up.
* Risk: Low. You can never be "liquidated"; even if the price drops 50%, you still own the same amount of coins.
2. Holding (HODL)
Holding is a long-term strategy where you buy assets in the Spot market and keep them for months or years, regardless of short-term price swings.
* How to do it:
* Buy your desired coins via Spot.
* Keep them in your Spot Wallet, or move them to Binance Earn (Simple Earn) to gain interest/passive income while you wait.
* For maximum security, some "holders" move their assets to a private hardware wallet or the Binance Web3 Wallet.
* Goal: Long-term wealth building.
* Tip: Many holders use DCA (Dollar-Cost Averaging), which means buying a small amount every week or month regardless of the price.
3. Futures Trading (Speculating with Leverage)
In Futures, you aren't buying the coin itself. You are buying a contract that bets on whether the price will go up or down.
* How to do it:
* Transfer USDT from your Spot Wallet to your USDS-M Futures Wallet.
* Go to the Futures tab.
* Select your Leverage (e.g., 5x, 10x). Warning: High leverage can wipe out your account quickly.

* Sell/Short: You profit if the price goes down.

Hello everyone!
I am a newbie who has been into Crypto for 3 months.
To be honest, at first I couldn't even tell Bitcoin from Binance 😅 But now I feel much more confident thanks to my own research and some small "hard-earned" lessons:
2 new things I learned that I wish I had known earlier:
1. A "Crypto Wallet" does not actually "hold" coins!
Instead, it stores the private key - the key to prove you own coins on the blockchain. Losing the key = losing money for sure!
"Not your keys, not your crypto" is real!
2. Keeping coins on an exchange is convenient, but self-custody wallets are truly safe. I am using Trust Wallet and MetaMask - both are easy to use for newbies!
Personal experiences:
1. I once mistakenly transferred on the wrong network and lost $10 in fees - now I always double-check before sending!
2. I learned about staking and am experimenting with a small amount of money - earning a few % makes me happy already!
I am still learning every day and would love to hear everyone's experiences! Are there any newbies like me? Or if anyone has good tips, please share with me! 🙏
