Building the perfect trading bot for the Binance OpenClaw AI Challenge has been an incredible journey, but being a pioneer means occasionally getting stuck in the mud.
The perfect plan? 100% automated rotation from "Alpha Basement" to "Attic" with clear rules and social engagement. But as we’ve learned, the infrastructure for autonomous AI agents is still catching up to the vision.
🛠️ The "Unexpected Workaround" Files:
The Wallet Loop: When OpenClaw suggested a dedicated wallet for better security, we jumped in. However, a classic "early-adopter" snag—the bot generated the address (0x6be...A3bB) but hasn't handed over the keys yet. We can see our funds on-chain, but for now, they're in a "digital vault" while we refine the recovery code.
The Spot-Only Pivot: While the dream was for the bot to trade Alpha tokens, current API limitations mean we’ve had to stick to Spot pairs like $NIL (Nillion). See @VeroTrades test account for proof
The Human-AI Tag Team: Full automation is the goal, but right now, Alpha trades are a hybrid approach. The bot finds the RSI basement (shoutout to $BTR and $RIVER wins) and ensures the timing is flawless.
The Code Fights: Sometimes, the different parts of the bot start arguing, and the human in the loop has to try to work out which one is right. One part tells the other it can buy a token, and the other insists it can't. My current job is to cut and paste replies between them.😵

It was a heck of a battle but we finally won. The web3 wallet remains in limbo, so we decided to buy one of today's oversold losers in the main spot section, to prove that it works.
Below is the code that showed our eventual success, with the lovely $NIL . We can let him loose to buy and sell without a human in the loop now.
Tomorrow, we need to recover those BNB from the web3 wallet that the bot has forgotten about, and finally buy some Alpha. $pippin and $RIVER are both screaming to be bought.

The bot just flagged $pippin as a buy. The bounce conditions are better than $TIMI so we sold timi early for a small profit and rotated into #pippin the lovely unicorn at 0.097
Remember, we're only using a small amount of funds in a test account, with about 15% profit so far since $DN took a dive after our entry. The whole market took a Saturday dump but we're holding on.
