I’ve been watching Sign Protocol, and at first it feels like a clean fix—verify credentials, distribute tokens, remove guesswork. It makes sense on the surface.

But then you notice the gaps.

A credential isn’t just data, it’s meaning. And that meaning doesn’t always survive once it’s standardized. Two identical attestations can represent completely different things, depending on who issued them.

It works well when things are small and aligned. But as it grows, people use it differently. Credentials become something to chase, not something that naturally reflects value.

Nothing breaks. Everything still runs.

But there’s a quiet difference between what’s recorded… and what’s real.

And that’s the part I’m still unsure about.
