Watching the power exhibited by people gathering to declare their independence from any central authority is truly uplifting. Gatherings like the #USNoKingsProtests illustrate a broader change in that trust is moving away from centralized authorities (power structure) and is moving toward collective authority (community voice) which is a similar essence as the philosophy behind cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin was created not merely to be a currency, but rather an act against oppression and as a refusal to be controlled by any king or government, or any single entity, regarding the rules for how that entity can be run.
Seeing the example set by many of these gatherings certainly reminds me why decentralization is so important, because it is much more than about the technology;
it is about the freedom associated with code.
